April 24, 2010 – Deoksugung Palace, Seoul, Korea

I observed that the design of ancient buddhist temples fall into some category of art —- the detailed patterns, tubes underneath every rooftop, and its strong primary colors. I may say that their art influenced the way the people wear their traditional dress, in Korea, the Hanbok.

Deoksugung Palace is a walled compound of different palaces that was inhabited by royalties before it was destroyed into almost one-third by Japanese occupation. Today, there are several constructions but it did not hinder visitors as there is the heart-thrilling “Changing of Guards” scheduled four times a day. =)
